STAR4D training focuses on the aspects spray technicians need to know in order to accomplish tasks in the correct and most efficient way.

A properly cleaned surface is the key to any successful coating operation. Nearly 90% of coating failures can be attributed to improper surface cleanliness.

The STAR4D abrasive blast certification course benefits those who are looking to learn about the importance of a properly cleaned ferrous or nonferrous substrate. Topics such as cleanliness standards, surface preparation, surface profile, safety and proper techniques.

Students will learn the fundamentals of surface preparation and identify the proper blast equipment and tools required. In addition, proper techniques to achieve a more efficient cleaning process will be discussed. Students will demonstrate the proper techniques through interactive 3D simulation and hands-on abrasive blast nozzle systems.

Topics covered

  • Safety
  • Corrosion Theory
  • Masking and Surface Preparation
  • Abrasive Blast Media
  • Blast Equipment and Proper Setup
  • Blast Technique
  • Troubleshooting
