Conference Season is in Full Swing for the IWRC
The first quarter of 2024 is a busy time for IWRC staff with conferences and professional development opportunities. At the end of January, Dan Nickey traveled to Chicago to attend the Midwest Energy Solutions Conference where he was able to network with other energy industry professionals and learn about the latest trends in the industry.
The following week, Joe Bolick, Jenny Trent, Jason Clay and Kendall Lienemann attended Compost 2024 in Daytona Beach. As president of the USCC, Jenny presided over the entire conference and led multiple sessions and meetings. Joe made the case for Iowa to become the Rookie Chapter of the Year during the chapter track while Kendall documented her experience at the conference for the UNI Wilson College of Business by taking over their Instagram account for a day.
Next month, Jordan Burrows will head off to Chattanooga for the annual National Small Business Environmental Assistance Program Conference. While in Tennessee, Jordan will have the opportunity to network with and learn from other environmental assistance programs and their staff while also attending some great educational sessions. That same week Dan Nickey and Jason Clay will be attending the Iowa Society of Solid Waste Operators Spring Conference in Marshalltown. This annual gathering of landfill operators and waste professionals is always a beneficial learning experience for all attendees. Finally at the end of March, Chris Lampe and Mark Harrington will be heading to Colorado Springs for the Air Force Corrosion Protection and Control Office Corrosion and Non-Chrome Technical Interchange Meetings where they will share their expertise in corrosion control through painter training, learn about new technologies and developments in the industry, and meet with potential military painter training clients.
As you can see, we are sprinting out of the gates in 2024 and could not be more excited about the year to come. Follow the IWRC Facebook page to see photos from past and future conferences.
