The University of Northern Iowa's Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC) has developed an online training program to help painters meet a new Environmental Protection Agency rule that goes into effect in January 2011. This rule, titled National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Subpart HHHHHH (6H): Paint Stripping and Miscellaneous Surface Coating Operations, requires painter training for many painting operations, including auto body repair shops and manufacturing facilities.
