The permit-by-rule is a permitting option specifically for spray booths, facilities in compliance with these requirements are deemed in compliance with air construction permitting requirements.

Note: Permit-by-rule does not exempt the pollution source from applicable air pollution regulations and compliance requirements.

One Gallon Permit-by-Rule

If your facility never sprays more than one gallon of sprayable material in any single day (not average) you can use the one gallon permit-by-rule and be in compliance with Iowa construction permit requirements for spray operations.

If your facility never sprays more than three gallons of sprayable material in any single day (not average) you can use the three-gallon permit-by-rule and be in compliance with Iowa construction permit requirements for spray operations.
