Jennifer Trent
Program Manager
As the Program Manager of Food, Beverage, and Organics at the IWRC, I enjoy working directly with clients to plan and implement waste diversion strategies. Whether it’s helping them identify infrastructure needs or creating a compost program, I guide clients through best management practices and regulatory compliance. I also work with the IWRC’s Iowa Green Brewery Certification (IGBC) program, helping breweries identify sustainable practices in water quality and conservation, solid waste diversion, energy efficiency, and environmental planning.
My involvement in composting extends beyond the IWRC. I serve as Director of the Iowa Composting Council and President of the US Composting Council, where I’m continually inspired by the passionate people I meet and the progress being made across the country. Not only do I advocate for composting and compost use, I practice it in my daily life as part of my commitment to reduce waste.
What I love most about my work is the opportunity to dream big and bring impactful projects to life that benefit both our clients and the environment. At the IWRC, we believe the sky’s the limit, and I’m proud to be part of a team that pushes boundaries that influence waste diversion from the landfill toward better uses.
