Navigating change together
This year marks 38 years since the IWRC’s founding through the Iowa Groundwater Protection Act, and in that time, we have witnessed many changes to the environmental regulatory landscape, fluctuations in funding streams, and challenges for small businesses. As a result, the way we go about providing our services has adapted and evolved but our commitment to our clients and the quality of service we provide has not.

Eastern IA businesses receive free assistance
Businesses classified by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as minor sources in counties throughout the eastern portion of the state may be required to submit the Minor Source Emissions Inventory (MSEI) by May 15, 2025.

Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program: 30 Years of Supporting Iowa Small Businesses
Established in 1993, the IAEAP works with Iowa small businesses (100 employees or less) to provide free, non-regulatory assistance in the areas of permitting, recordkeeping and reporting, as well as provides guidance and training related to state and federal air quality regulations. 2023 marked the 30th anniversary of the Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program (IAEAP) housed within the Iowa Waste Reduction Center at the University of Northern Iowa.
