Jordan Burrows
Environmental Specialist
As an Environmental Specialist at the IWRC, I work with the Environmental Assistance Program and the Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program (IAEAP). My role involves conducting onsite reviews across Iowa, creating maps for various projects, and assisting with the development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPP). One of the highlights of my job is traveling to different businesses, learning about their unique processes, and finding solutions to their environmental challenges.
Before graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 2023, I spent two years as a student intern at the IWRC, where I discovered my passion for helping small businesses navigate environmental regulations. Now, in my full-time role, I work directly with clients to navigate air quality permitting, maintain proper recordkeeping, and complete the Minor Source Emissions Inventory (MSEI), helping to alleviate their stress.
Since middle school, I’ve wanted to work in the environmental field because of my love for the outdoors. Knowing that my work not only helps small businesses but also positively impacts the environment makes me incredibly proud to be part of the IWRC.
