James (Jamie) Niccolls, P.E.

James (Jamie) Niccolls, P.E., is a Lead Resource Planning Consultant at Alliant Energy, with a 30-year background in Distribution Engineering, Distribution Planning, and generation Resource Planning. Mr. Niccolls follows the MISO Resource Adequacy Subcommittee which is currently wrestling with the rapidly evolving generation portfolio towards a low/no carbon future. Balancing costs, carbon reduction goals, and the grid attributes needed to maintain reliability and resiliency in all hours of the year have become a key consideration of Alliant Energy’s long-term resource planning studies, which is the focus of Mr. Niccolls’ work.
