Stephanie Katsaros

A social entrepreneur, thought leader and business strategist, Stephanie founded Bright Beat in 2010 with a focus on environmental stewardship and social responsibility. She builds multi-faceted sustainability programs for businesses, municipalities, facilities and events, raising the bar for responsible operations and public engagement. Bright Beat helped build the platform for BioCycle’s Organics Recycling Database, and helped recover over 98 tons of recyclables and organics at the Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary concerts at Soldier Field. Stephanie leads the Chicago Sustainability Task Force, sits on the Illinois Food Scrap Coalition Board of Directors and the iHeartMedia Advisory Board. Bright Beat sustainability programs have earned several US-EPA awards, the 2016 FestForums Best of the Fests: Music Festival Sustainability Award, A Greener Festival Award 2016 Highly Commended Award, and Stephanie was named the 2014 Illinois Recycling Association Educator of the Year.
