Allie Wilson

Allie Wilson is the Midwest Regional Coordinator for the MEANS Database, a nonprofit that prevents food waste by streamlining food donations to charities who need them via text and email notifications. She is in charge of contacting possible food donors and charities in the Midwest who could benefit by using the database. In addition to being a RC, Allie is one of the co-directors of Donation Drivers, an Iowa initiative to prevent food waste by paying charities to pick up donated food. Through the MEANS Database, Allie has become an advocate for food security and the prevention of food waste. In addition to national food security, Allie is interested in food security abroad as well. She has studied sustainable agricultural practices in Costa Rica, Uganda, and Brazil. Allie is currently a senior at Iowa State University completing her Bachelors in Global Resource Systems.
