Jennifer Jordan is the Resource Management Superintendent for the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center in Iowa City, IA. She has a BA in Geography and an MA in Urban and Regional Planning, both from the University of Iowa. Jen is a certified compost operator; she has worked with commercial partners in Johnson County to divert food waste to the commercial compost facility at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center. In the summer of 2014, the City of Iowa City worked with USEPA to pilot “Food: Too Good to Waste” and piloted a residential curbside food waste collection program. The City rolled out a comprehensive residential food waste reduction and voluntary curbside collection program to its 15,300 curbside customers in March 2017.
