Jim Olson



Having worked at the IWRC since 1988, Jim is the longest serving member of the IWRC staff. Jim’s educational background includes a B.A. in Biology at the University of Northern Iowa and an M.S. in Thermal and Environmental Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. His education, paired with the 27 years of experience at the IWRC led to Jim becoming the director in 2012. As director, Jim oversees all the IWRC’s various programs and services and continues to manage the On-Site Review program. He continues to conduct on-site reviews at the Iowa businesses, assists with their environmental and regulatory concerns, and presents at workshops and conferences.
