After beginning as a waste reduction specialist in 1994, becoming the Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program manager in 2001 and senior program manager in 2009, Dan became the Associate Director of the IWRC in 2013. He continues to oversee the IAEAP and work with clients, but he also works closely with regulatory agencies and other organizations, is a member on the U.S. EPA’s Clean Air Act Advisory Committee and continually seeks funding opportunities for the IWRC. Dan’s educational background includes a B.S. in Environmental Science from Wesley College, a M.A. in Public Administration from Drake University, as well as being a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (1998), Certified Energy Manager (2008), LEED® Accredited Professional (2009). Dan has taken an active role in Iowa’s food waste problem by managing the IWRC’s food waste reduction and diversion efforts.
