In 1987, the Groundwater Protection Act created the Iowa Waste Reduction Center for the Safe and Economic Management of Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste. On January 25, 1988, doors officially opened. 

Thirty years later, we've shortened our name to the Iowa Waste Reduction Center but we're providing more services and programs to Iowa businesses than ever before.
